> The Kuksu Rui Naiwei 9 dan
The 44th Kuksu title sponsored by Donga Daily News and the Daewoo Group, with a prize fund of 180 million won of which 20 million won goes to the winner, is the most prestigious title. The main tournament is a seeded knockout of eight players (winner' s section) with the losers going across, according to the stage at which they lose, into a parallel repechage knockout (loser' s section); the winners of the two sections usually played a three-game match to challenge the holder in a five-game match (which is now a three-game match). Rui Naiwei, who is the undisputed women' s world champion, beat Cho Hoon-hyun two games to one in the final, having overcome the world number one Lee Chang-ho on the way.

 

> The Hanguk Tongshin m.com Cup Paewang Cho Hoon-hyun 9 dan
The 35th Paewang Crown, sponsored by Daehan Mae-il (daily newspaper) and Hanguk Tongshin m.com Ltd., with 130 million won in the prize pot, is the second most prestigious tournament. The main tournament is a win-and-continue system, for 20 qualifiers. The 34th title was won dramatically by Cho Hoon-hyun, over Lee Seong-jae, for a fourth consecutive title (his 20th Paewang title). Cho lost the first two games but came back to win 3-2.
